Job Development:
- Kim Lane explained what the on the Job Circle is and reported the outcome of the recent event. It is lead by Trish Lane from DOR (510-622-2789, palane@dor.ca.gov). All job seekers who attend have a disability and most are DOR clients, There were 8 employers who interviewed over 40 applicants. Three people were offered jobs that day, and there should be more to come in the next week. The plan is to have the event once a year and the MC will have representation at the planning meetings. Clients will also be invited to participate in preparing for future events. The first meeting to plan next year’s event will be on May 20th at 2:00 at DOR in Fairfield. There was a suggestion by the organizers to create a “job club” for individuals who participated to provide support to as they continue to look for jobs. The MC donated $50 to this year’s Job Circle to help pay for refreshments.
